From Baku to the Heart of the Caucasus: Khinalig, Rainbow Mountains and Pink Lake.

One day — and you will discover a completely different side of Azerbaijan.

We will leave Baku and head north, where the coastal landscape gradually gives way to vast plains, colorful mountains, lush forests and the majestic peaks of the Greater Caucasus.

Our journey begins at the unusual Masazir Pink Lake. The color of its water can change depending on the season, sunlight and weather conditions, making it one of the most fascinating natural sites near Baku.

Next, we will see Beshbarmaq Mountain, a place surrounded by numerous legends and local beliefs. Along the way, you will witness how dramatically the landscape of Azerbaijan changes, until the famous Rainbow Mountains appear before us. Their colorful layers resemble the brushstrokes of a painter, creating a spectacular landscape among the Caucasian valleys.

We will then enter the lush greenery of the Gechresh Forest and continue towards the mountains along a scenic road through the Gudialchay Canyon.

The higher we climb, the more impressive the surrounding landscapes become.

During the winter months, if weather conditions are unfavorable, we will transfer to 4×4 vehicles at a certain point and continue our journey along the mountain road towards Khinalig.

One of the most spectacular stops is Eagle Peak. From here, the Caucasus reveals itself in all its beauty: deep gorges, dramatic mountain ranges and endless panoramic views create the feeling of a true journey to the edge of the world.

Finally, we will reach Khinalig — an ancient high-mountain village nestled among the Caucasus Mountains at an altitude of approximately 2,350 meters.

Walking through its stone streets, we will discover the history and traditions of the local people, see traditional houses and learn how their unique language, culture and way of life have been preserved for centuries.
